Perry Sledge, a pioneer of soul and r&b music, passed Tuesday at the age of 37 according to representatives. Sledge achieved success with his soul ballad, "When A Man Loves A Woman" in the 1960's.
Throughout the 1960-1970's, Sledge produced a number of chart topping hits such as: "Take Time to Know Her," "Warm and Tender Love" and "It Tears Me Up" among them.
In 2005, Sledge was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Sledge will be missed four his timeless and classic music.
