Lange is returning to the big stage for a Broadway staging of “Long Day’s Journey Into Night, produced by Murphy. She will be play the role of Mary Tyrone, a recovering morphine addict. Previews will begin in March 2016 at the Roundabout Theatre Company in March 2016. As previously reported by 2blkgrls the fifth season of AHS, “American Horror Story: Hotel,” returns to FX in October and will star Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Matt Bomer, Lady Gaga and Sarah Paulson. The show, which airs on PBS SoCaL’s, is on its second “Actors on Actors” interview and will feature conversations between actors Claire Danes with Don Cheadle and Queen Latifah with Taraji P. Henson. The two will be discussing their recent groundbreaking roles as blues singer Bessie Smith and the other as "Empire"'s beloved us Cookie. "Actors on Actors" will be airing on PBS stations around the country and on Variety.com. Check out the first two episodes below; the first featuring Taraji P. Keke Palmer is all about work honey! The "Scream Queens" star has been casted as Marty Maraschino in Fox’s upcoming musical event Grease: Live. The role, originally played in the 1978 movie by Dinah Manoff, is the first to be cast since Julianne Hough and Vanessa Hudgens were announced as Sandy and Rizzo earlier this year. Palmer, who will next be seen in Ryan Murphy’s Scream Queens, has plenty of musical experience. She previously played the part of Chilli in CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story, starred in Broadway’s Cinderella and the film Joyful Noise. Danielle Brooks who is famously known for her role as Tasha “Taystee” Jefferson on the hit series “Orange is the New Black” has landed another amazing role: Sophia in broadway’s, “The Color Purple.”
The play is based on Alice Walker’s book of the same title. The play was also made into a movie with Oprah Winfrey in the role of Sophia. The play begins on November 9th at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre.
