On Monday night, Duke captured its fifth NCAA men’s basketball championship with a 68–63 victory over fellow No. 1 seed Wisconsin. It was a close fought game until the end of the wire.
Duke University students and fans rejoiced. This season, Duke Coach Mike Krzyzewski became the first men's coach in Division 1 history to win 1,000 games. Now Monday's victory brings another victory for Krzyzewski as he brings Duke's national title count to five championships.
