"When fans realized tickets were not available at the box office, a small number of people created an unsafe environment, and for the safety of all guests, the New Jersey State Police were on scene to disperse the crowd. The gates were closed at that time. No further entry was permitted into the event," the radio station said in a statement.
There were Snaps of performances by and sing-alongs to Kendrick Lamar, Chris Brown and Big Sean. There were clips of Lil Kim, Meek Mill and Nicki Minaj backstage. Soon those happy and envious Snaps were flipped.
There were Snaps of concertgoers cursing out of frustration in response to not being able to enter the venue. Some even snapped photos of their tickets and themselves outside of the gates. It was not pretty.
According to many media articles, the New Jersey State Police blocked gates outside of the MetLife Stadium as a protective measure to tame an angry and unruly crowd trying to get inside. Tear gas was used to disperse them as well as armored state police vehicles blaring a piercing loud sound to gain cooperation.
