Just after the big reveal and welcoming of Caitlyn Jenner a petition to change.org has been posted. What is this petition and what does it have to do with Caitlyn? Well, the petition, started by Jennifer Bradford of Fort Worth, TX., is asking the International Olympic Committee to take back the gold medal Caitlyn Jenner won in the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games decathlon.
In the petition there is support for Caitlyn's courage and newfound freedom to be herself, however it states the violation of competition rules regarding men and women.

"We congratulate Ms. Jenner on these new developments and wish her the best. However, this creates somewhat of a problem as Ms. Jenner (as talented as she is) claims that she has always believed herself to be truly female, and therefore, was in violation of committee rules regarding women competing in men's sports and vice versa."
It has been a long struggle for the IOC to differentiate men and women and the two genders not competing in contests of athletic ability against one another. Female Olympians were subjected to humiliating processes for gender verification for years. Although that process was stopped in the 1990's, the IOC still has the right to seek gender verification for certain athletes.
We could go further into details but what is the point? Caitlyn has retired from the games long ago, and although she was aware she was a woman back then, technically she wasn't. So leave her and her titles be! I think this has a bit to do with egos and pride. It is over and done with. Moving on.

The change.org petition has already received a large amount of support. Currently, a little over 2,000 more signatures are needed to achieve the 7,500 goal.
