At Senatobia High School in Senatobia, Mississippi, four individuals are facing charges related to cheering at a high school graduation.
You might say well what is going on here? Since when does graduation not equal to cheers and applause for accomplishments.
At Senatobia High School, the audience was instructed not to cheer or applause during the graduation ceremony. At the May 21 graduation ceremony, Ursula Miller called out the name of her niece, Lakaydra. The graduate's brother also shouted out, "You did it, baby!"
Soon after authorities asked the family members to leave the ceremony which all four member did. Soon after they received documents charging them with disturbing the piece.

In an affidavit filed in Tate County Justice Court last month, one woman, Ursula Miller, was charged for “yelling and clapping while inside the building after announcement had been made for all to hold their applause and celebrating until after the end of the ceremony.” |
The four family members are now facing $500 fines and six-month jail terms after the incident.
“I can understand they can escort me out of the graduation, but to say they going to put me in jail for it,” Miller told WREG. “What else are they allowed to do?”
Walker expressed a similar sentiment, telling the TV station that “it’s crazy.”
“The fact that I might have to bond out of jail, pay court costs, a $500 fine for expressing my love,” he said. “It’s ridiculous.”
