Remember that episode of Girlfriends when Lynn's adopted white sister Tanya came to visit and she was more "down, afro-centric, check all the above stereotypes of black women" than all the Girlfriends?
It seems that life is imitating art in 2015 in a sense.
Rachel Dolezal is the president of the Spokane chapter of the NAACP, chair of the city’s Office of Police Ombudsman Commission, and an adjunct professor of Africana at Eastern Washington University.
On Thursday, her parents urged their daughter to stop falsely representing herself as black. "Our daughter is Caucasian", her parents stated to local media. Dolezal’s fully recognize their daughter Rachel as their biological child and state that their daughter’s heritage is Czech, Swedish, and German — including possible traces of Native American.
This is wear the story get extremely tricky and in fact a little messy. #BlackTwitter was right there to pull up a chair with snacks.
Dolezal has shown photos of a black father and black sons on Facebook. Dolezal has also listed numerous instances of being followed in stores and even the victim of eight documented hate crimes because of her position as a black woman leading the NAACP.
Come to find out her "black father" is not her biological father. Her black sons are actually sons adopted her biological parents when Rachel Dolezal was younger. Dolezal claims she was the victim of abuse in her household.

In an interview with KXLY4's Jeff Humphrey asked Dolezal about that claim Wednesday afternoon.
"Ma'am, I was wondering if your dad really is an African-American man," Humphrey asked.
"I don't understand the question," Dolezal answered. "I did tell you [that man in the picture] is my dad."
"Are your parents white?" Humphrey asked. At that point, Dolezal removed the microphone, ended the interview and walked away.
If she doesn't know whether she is african-american or not, how are we to believe anything she says? This is just messy, messy, and messier. #BlackTwitter relentessly roasted the situation bringing just the right amount of humor, sarcasm, and truth to the situation.
